Description

The SCOAP3 for Books is an initiative designed to transition key textbooks and monographs in particle physics and neighboring fields to OA. A pilot phase ran from May 2021 to Nov 2022 and converted 113 books (monographs and textbooks) to Open Access. In 2023, the SCOAP3 Governing Council agreed to establish a recurring books programme and prioritise frontlist titles selected through a rigorous selection process. In its first year 2023, this programme is supporting 21 new books to be published Open Access.
